The Naked Bathroom Vanity

Update : This post is linked to Thrifty Decor Chick's Before and After Party

How many of you out there have this exact same builder basic bathroom vanity? Apparently, they were very popular in 1975...2009, not so much. It looks like it has a peg leg or something. I think it's meant to house a little seat for us ladies to sit on and leisurely do our hair and makeup. Ummmmm, yeah...I usually have about 3 mintues to get ready in the morning. I'd rather give it a cute skirt and use it for storage. So, last night when I got tired of doing this......

I decided I didn't have nearly enough projects going on at once, and I did ...
THIS in our main bathroom!

A fashionable skirt for my nekkid bathroom vanity. A bit of leftover fabric from my dear sweet friend, Richella...some trim, hot glue, and few staples...and there you go. Wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am!

And now I am off to finish painting the other bathroom. Yes...I am aware it is midnight, but that's when I get my best work done! Oh, and did I forget to mention that I'm hosting our annual Halloween bash for about 40-50 people here tomorrow night??? I'm midway through a bedroom/bathroom makeover, my house is a disaster, and I'm considering painting my front door before the party tomorrow night.

Love it! Girl you are crazy to try to paint a door before your party! I didn't get half the stuff done on my list for my party today, a few doors in my house will just have to stay closed! Yikes! Happy Halloween!

I think a lot of us have that same problem! And always right before a party or some holiday get-together we're hosting {as if there wasn't enough stress}! I love this fabric and what a great idea. Great spot for storage now, too!

First of all the skirt looks great! The fabric is very pretty. Second I know what your saying about staying up so late and doing your projects. No one is up to bug you! And waiting 'til the last minute is my type of thing too! I work best under pressure! I like your style!

The first step is admitting you have a problem ... hahaha

Love the skirt on the vanity ... very pretty fabric. Just finishes it.

OK. This does it. We are FOR SURE sisters separated at birth. WAIT until you see my master bath and the project I'm right in the middle of.... YEP.... It's s skirt for an area EXACTLY like yours. Uh huh. I'm not kidding....I'm sure you won't even see this comment, because it's 10:20, and I'm sure you've finished the projects, painted the front door, AND decided that there's something else you just HAVE to get done before that party....Build a new set of built ins maybe??? :)
love you!

I can barely fit myself into the chair at the computer right now, my head is so big. I am just that proud of myself for choosing that fabric. Now our bathrooms can be twins and I have a legitimate claim to fame. . . Amanda loves me! :)

So you have a problem, do you? I don't know. . . I've always thought that one of the best things about parties was that they provide the impetus to get things done. My college-age son used our house for a dinner party on Friday night, and thirty minutes before all the kids arrived I was re-upholstering the chairs to my kitchen table. Worked for me!

I heart you so much!

Ohh I painted my hallway cabinets the day of my 4y/os birthday party. They were still wet when people came over! But, against my husbands mind frame, it had to be done!!! :)

Looks great!

Great curtain. Very cute!

It seems I have the same problem as you. While decorating for Halloween (on Saturday!) I decided I needed to rearrange/clean my front sitting room. Both amazingly got done. Somehow.

You sound like me doig projects like that at the last minute! Your bathroom looks great, LOVE that fabric! I have been wanting to do a similar thing in my boring (what were they thinking when they built this house) bathroom...

Have a great week!
