Plastic Surgery for Tassels

I recently scored these hunter green tassels circa 1985 at a yard sale for 25 cents each. I loved the toppers and the fluffy fullness they had...and the price was just right. Not loving the color so much, but I thought maybe a little nip and tuck would do wonders. So, they came home with me.

A little of this and a little of that, a smidge of hot glue, and several burned fingers later...this is what I came up with.

I like them, even though I can see still some of that lovely green peaking through. I chose some pretty bright colored trim that I hope will ,not only compliment them, but camouflage that color too.

It's not designer decor, but for two quarters...I can live with it. In the words of Project Runway's Tim Gunn..."Make it work!"

What??? How could you not like their color? They would match perfectly with Harvest Gold tassels. :)

I think you did great...esp. considering you only paid 50 cents!! I think they are so pretty. You have such a way of turning ugly into fab. ;)

No one around here does tassels. I bet they'd think I'm weird if I put some out. I'm okay with that, I guess. ;)

You are on fire! What's up with all the projects? Where have you found your "git up and go" lately? I need some.

Cute Tassels. A little nip and tuck and no silicone involved.

Cute. Good idea. I almost bought some at a thrift store the other day and was going to spray paint them just to see how they would turn out. But they were too pricey...if I could come across a deal like yours I would give it a try. (See how daring you have made me!!!)

Love what you did with the tassels! I think the dark green just makes those peachy colors pop even more. Fabulous!

Love the Tim Gunn impression. Haha, he's the best. And girl, I'm really liking your tassel beauties. You see beauty in the beasts I must say. I probably would have walked right on by and then kicked myself because they had such potential.

I got my pumpkins yesterday! I was so excited!! I can't wait to decorate with them and they were sooooo cute in their little bags and ribbon. Thank you so much again!
